Ted's Garage

Our servers are always dressed in crisp white blouses, black dress slacks, and our black aprons.

Teds Garage was a delightful surprise.
One of our most memorable weddings was at Ted's Garage. It actually was garage that looked like a museum for vintage cars in a multi level design . It had a loft feeling, and owners of actual vintage collectible cars stored them here on display . A ramp led down through the middle of the main reception area, and large doors that accommodated cars coming in and out, opened to receive the bride and groom as they drove down, across and out of the reception, in a vintage convertible corvette, with rice being tossed , and a jazz band along side entertaining guest. The bride and I agreed that black linens and lime with a pop, would decorate such a unusual venue. The bar tables were covered in black, as well as the buffet and food stations, but she chose the custom linen colors for the brides cake table.I regret not being able to locate the photograph of this beautiful and exotic lime linen drape for her beautiful four tiered cake. Her grooms table held cupcakes on a tiered display and were chocolate with the couple's initials pipped in the custom lime color . The 350 guest were pleasantly surprised to see the cleaver escape. Although, we were aware of the car coming through, we were busy with the food and beverages,  and did not snap a photograph. I was disappointed, but later the event was featured in a Wedding Special Addition of the Birmingham Magazine, and a picture was there. The table design was completed with a tall vase holding fruits and beautiful vibrant flowers. Our pictures were a bit dark, and not taken with much care, as we were there to provide a feast that knocked the socks off of the guest! They opted for our famous chicken salad croissants, mini ham and cheese on hawaiian sweet rolls, with  mango chutney, served softly warm along with  fruit displays and cheeses assortments, gourmet crackers and dips.Cucumber boats held a nibble of seafood salad, and spiral assorted wraps were a favorite. Punch, beer and cocktails (provided by Ted's Garage) complimented the buffet.

Buffet included shrimp, sweet and sour meatballs, chicken salad croissants (our specialty). Cheeses and cracker assortment, spinach dip and Bagel chips, Fresh fruit display with  dip. Crispy fresh vegetables with dip.

Chocolate Table  is always a favorite
Katie and David were the most adorable clients to work with. Although her hometown was in Florence, she married here,  in Birmingham, at Dawson Memorial Church. David is from Mountain Brook. Katie and her Mom had to depend on using the  phone and email  to make most decisions. This was a beautiful fall afternoon wedding, and  box lunches were provided for the bride and groom's wedding party . This is a wise decision. I have actually heard of brides falling out from low blood sugar, because they failed to eat properly that day. They were all  fed well after pictures were taken, but before the ceremony. I cannot tell you how many brides and grooms, as well as their parents, never touch a bite of food at their own reception. The overwhelming  request of their guests wishing  to congratulate them usually causes this. We always pack a beautiful picnic basket with lots of goodies and plenty of cake, and a few hours later it is always appreciated by the newly married couple, as well as their parents.I don't remember eating or drinking at my wedding, except the bite and drink for the posed picture.I have scanned the photographs, so their quality is not like digital photography. Katie and David had a special request, Mt. Dew, and Milos tea! They said anyone that knew them well, would expect to see these favorite beverages in their hand at all times. We iced  down individual size bottles  and served them on ice , in tin buckets. Favorites here : Chocolate table, and the shrimp!
